Galapagos Species Checklist

Marine Invertebrates

The various checklists of marine invertebrates listed here are taxonomic groups that generally do not belong to the vertebrate subphylum, i.e., they lack a vertebral column or an articulated endoskeleton.
This very diverse group includes molluscs (e.g., shells and snails), marine annelids (e.g., segmented worms), echinoderms (e.g., sea urchins and sea cucumbers), cnidarians (e.g., corals and gorgonians), sponges, and many others.
