    The person holding the position will generate information and/or written, photographic and audiovisual materials for the CDF. In addition, he/she will comply with the general information program by assisting the Information Manager by optimizing time and resources.

  • Provide operational support to the administrative, financial and logistic areas in the elaboration of special publication editions –books and annual reports. Gather information from strategic staff of the CDF and the community, as well as analyzing and writing the first edition of the information obtained.
  • Cover and write news generated in the CDF to work on press releases, newsletters, reports, our website, etc.
  • Manage the CDF WEB site; this includes revision and entering previously authorized material by the Information Manager.
  • Collect monthly information from the CDF areas to prepare our monthly release.
  • Coordinate press conferences, workshops, presentations, and project or publication launches of the CDF. (This includes making invitations, agendas, budgets, logistics of each event)
  • Organize contact data bases and image files from the CDF.
  • Enter and process all information on a weekly and daily basis.
  • Monitor the Website and the newspapers about Galapagos and the CDF to elaborate a virtual and hard copy ‘clipping’.
  • Review the information with the Information Manager in order to distribute it the CDF employees and volunteers and FOGOS- English and Spanish versions.

  • Degree in Journalism- Public Relations- Social Communication- International Affairs- Applied Languages to Organizations and/or alike degrees.
  • Two years of experience in similar positions as an information official or journalist and/or public relations.
  • Writing skills
  • Working with informatic software
  • High and academic language skills in English and Spanish languages
  • Experience in administrative areas and processes follow up

    This is a long term position in the CDF. There is an initial contract period of one year that can be renewable according to performance evaluations and availability of funds. The job location is in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz-Galapagos. Benefits include private health insurance and 22 days of vacation per year.
