Candidate experience
Student volunteers will be actively pursuing careers in environmental sciences and conservation. They must have completed 2 or more years of undergraduate work or enrolled in post-graduate programs. Specific openings may have additional requirements.

A professional volunteer will have multiple years of experience related to the assignment for which they are applying. Specific openings may have additional requirements.
Length of assignment
Volunteer assignments are generally for 6 months or more though specific openings may available for a shorter duration of time.
Program costs
International volunteers are responsible for paying their own travel costs, living expenses and medical insurance. CDF can help the volunteer obtain a reduced airfare from Quito or Guayaquil to Galapagos. Lodging at the Research Station may be available for rental. There is also an on-site dining facility that serves weekday breakfast and lunches with set menus at reasonable prices. Proof of life and health insurance is required.
Occasionally, the CDF is able to offer assistance to an international volunteer for living and/or travel expenses. This assistance depends on the nature and duration of the assignment as well as on the availability of funds. Please see individual volunteer postings for more information.
