The Charles Darwin Foundation has designed a site to enable tourists, naturalist guides, and Galapagos National Park rangers to report invasive and introduced species seen during their travels in the Galapagos Islands. This information will allow institutions in Galapagos to more accurately track the distribution of species and respond more rapidly to new introductions in Galapagos. Currently the site handles reports of invasive and introduced vertebrate species.
Tourists, guides, scientists, and Park rangers can sign up for an account and log on. Once logged on, they are assisted in identifying the species and the location of the siting. The whole process takes about 5 minutes.
If you have observed any introduced or unusual vertebrates while in Galapagos, please visit the Galapagos Observation Database and share your observations!
