CDF is committed to building understanding among people in Galapagos, and contributing to the strengthening of conservation consciousness in support of sustainable local development. This is the heart of the CDF’s community development program, known as Technical Assistance.
CDF has a duty under the formal agreement between the Foundation and the Government of Ecuador, to provide advice and help build institutional and individual capacities for management and conservation in Galapagos. By maintaining awareness of stakeholder research needs and opportunities for action, CDF ensures that Ecuadorian and Galapagos authorities have the information they need to make decisions affecting Galapagos.

CDF works with key strategic partners such as Galapagos National Park, INGALA (Instituto Nacional Galápagos) SESA (Ecuadorian Service for Agricultural Health) and SICGAL (Quarantine Inspection System for Galapagos), and the municipalities of Santa Cruz, Isabela, and San Cristobal/Floreana islands, as well as other local businesses and organizations.
