CDF provides advice to the Government of Ecuador and supports key decision makers in matters affecting Galapagos.
CDF representatives on various decision making bodies provide technical and scientific information on the issues facing Galapagos. CDF helped in the formulation of important legislation such as that which established the Galapagos Marine Reserve in 1986, the 1998 Special Law for Galapagos, and in setting up the Galapagos quarantine system SESA-SICGAL.
