John Espinosa
Head of the Library, Archive, and Museum
John Espinosa, 27 years old and originally from Loja, Ecuador, is a professional with a solid background in the field of library science. He holds a degree in Library Science and Scientific-Technical Information from the National University of Loja. Additionally, he has a Cambridge-certified level of English, enabling him to communicate effectively in both academic and professional settings internationally. Throughout his career, he has been a member of ANABE, the National Association of Librarians in Ecuador, where he has contributed to the development of the country's library sector. He also worked at the National University of Loja, gaining valuable experience in managing academic libraries and archives. John holds two diplomas, one in the Implementation of Integrated Management Systems and another in Big Data, which complement his technical education and provide him with advanced tools for information management and analysis.
Since September 16, 2024, he has been part of the Charles Darwin Foundation, where he serves as the Head of the Library, Archive, and Museum. In this role, he focuses on the preservation, restoration, and digitization of valuable materials, contributing to knowledge access and the conservation of heritage in the Galápagos Islands.
