Senior Director U.S. Fundraising

Renee Monroe joined the Charles Darwin Foundation in May 2018 as its Chief Development Officer, a position she held until March 2024. Today she supports the CDF based out of the US as its Senior Director of U.S. Fundraising. She first visited and became passionate about the archipelago during a trip in 2009.

Prior to joining CDF, Renee spent twenty years in global development for education, health, sanitation, livelihoods and emergency response programs to assist children and families in poverty. She also has extensive experience in major gift and foundation work for U.S. based medical centers and universities. Based in New York, she plays a key role in strengthening the Foundation´s presence in the U.S. Renee also serves as Secretary to the Board of Friends of the Charles Darwin Foundation, a US 501(c)3 that was established in 2021 to conduct activities that support or benefit the CDF.
