Stefan Loosveld

Stefan Loosveld was born in Oostende (Belgium) and has lived on the Galapagos Islands since 1994. He shares his passion for nature with his 3 daughters Lorena, Sharon and Marliece.

Stefan is an economist (UTPL) and has further specializations in hotel management (ULE) and shipping management (Lloyds Maritime Academy). He completed his PADI diving instructor course at Pro Dive USA.

Before embarking 12 years as a hotel manager on cruise ships, he worked as a tour leader guiding groups in Ecuador and as a diver in the Galapagos Islands. Additionally, he worked for DEME with projects in Nigeria, Curacao, Ecuador and was part of the Belgian Navy.

He joined the ECCD in July 2016 and is in charge of coordinating the donation point at the Exhibition Hall and is the UAFE compliance officer.

Stefan speaks Dutch, Spanish, English, French, German and elementary Hebrew.
