CONSULTING: Human Atlas of Marine Conservation

Shark Movement Ecologist - Habla tiburon project

The Charles Darwin Foundation for the Galapagos Islands (CDF) is recruiting a Shark Movement Ecologist to join our shark research team and strengthen the ongoing long-term research on shark population ecology and conservation conducted by the CDF. The selected candidate will integrate the core technical team of a five-year project ("Habla Tiburón" project), funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The Charles Darwin Foundation's Environmental Education and Community Outreach Program aims to generate environmental awareness and sensitization through contact with nature, scientific knowledge, and experiential learning, promoting attitudes, practices, behaviors, and a sense of belonging that are coherent and respectful of the environment, fostering conservation and sustainable development of Galapagos socio-ecosystems. To fulfill this purpose, the CDF seeks to incorporate an edu-communicator for Santa Cruz Island into its work team.
Knowledge Management - Habla Tiburon Project

The Charles Darwin Foundation (CDF), in collaboration with WWF Ecuador and thanks to funding from USAID, is implementing a five-year project called “Habla Tiburón” (Shark Talk). This project seeks to protect sharks and rays in Ecuador through three main strategies: improving fisheries governance, promoting sustainable markets, and ensuring traceability of seafood products. The ultimate goal is to turn Ecuador's fishing communities into world leaders in the responsible marketing of seafood products. To achieve this, the project seeks to hire a Knowledge Management Officer who will be responsible for managing and sharing all the information generated during the initiative
