A special year deserves a special celebration. The Charles Darwin Foundation (CDF) opens its doors in collaboration with the Galapagos National Park (GNP), our strategic partner with whom we have worked hand in hand for 65 years.

The Open House is one of the most anticipated events of the year. Both our administrative and scientific staff are diligently preparing to welcome hundreds of visitors eagerly awaiting this event. In 2024, the CDF and GNP have organized a day that promises a wealth of learning and knowledge, complemented with fun and activities for all ages.

This event marks the celebration of our 65 years of joint work for the conservation of the Galapagos Islands. We will feature explanatory stands for each of our collaborative projects, as well as all the scientific information generated on the Charles Darwin Research Station (CDRS) campus.

In the morning, we will host organized groups from public, private, educational institutions, and non-governmental organizations, among others. Starting at noon, the event will be open to the general public to also partake in this incredible experience.

Attendees can explore two available routes, each with 8 thematic stands, so we suggest coming prepared for a tour of approximately two hours. This is a unique opportunity to get up close to our beautiful Natural Heritage.

Additionally, there will be spaces dedicated to local entrepreneurs who, under the guidance of our organizations, will present and sell their handcrafted products. This is an excellent opportunity to support the local economy and discover the talent and creativity of our community.

The CDF and GNP invite everyone to join this special celebration. Come and explore our thematic routes, learn about the biodiversity of the Galapagos, and enjoy a day full of surprises and activities for the whole family. It's a unique moment to get closer to the work we have done for decades in protecting our wonderful enchanted islands.

We eagerly await to share this special celebration with you and experience an unforgettable day together!
