Do you want to visit Galapagos and help conserve the archipelago? The Ecuadorian tour-company, Ecoventura, joined forces with the Charles Darwin Foundation (CDF) in 2017 to help preserve the Enchanted Islands.
Every year, Ecoventura tries to raise at least $150,000 for ‘The Galapagos Biodiversity and Education for Sustainability Fund’ (GBESF), which goes directly towards our conservation work. You can help protect the islands by booking a tour to Galapagos!
All revenue from cabins sold on two of Ecoventura’s cruises will be donated to the Charles Darwin Foundation:
- May 13 – 20, 2018: Tour Galapagos on a dive liveaboard, the M/V Galapagos Sky.
- September 2 – 9, 2018: Experience the archipelago on the MV Origin, Ecoventura’s luxury vessel.
There is no better way to ensure that the unique biodiversity of Galapagos survives for future generations than to support science and conservation while you visit this extraordinary place. Please book a trip of a lifetime on Ecoventura’s website.
Furthermore, our partners who sell our trips have the option to donate their commission or portion thereof to the fund. They will receive recognition on Ecoventura’s website and social media for this good deed.
Despite extensive government protection, Galapagos still faces threats from invasive species, climate change, illegal fishing, population growth, etc. In order to confront these issues, CDF’s scientists have worked for almost 60 years to provide breakthrough research for the conservation, restoration and sustainable development of the archipelago. All of CDF’s work is done in collaboration with the Galapagos National Park Directorate, which is another beneficiary of Ecoventura’s GBESF.
Monitoring trips, community outreach, and scientific equipment are among some of the ways in which the fund helps. Furthermore, support will also be provided to educate the leaders of tomorrow, through CDF’s university scholarships for Galapagos locals.
As you can see, choosing a cruise with Ecoventura is more than just signing up for a vacation to tour the Galapagos. You can make a positive difference while traveling.
