Única especie de cormorán presente en el archipielago que no puede volar. El cuello es largo, los adultos son de color marrón oscuro y los ojos son de color turquesa. Macho más grande que la hembra

Biología reproductiva: Se reproducen entre mayo y octubre. Colocan 3 huevos que son incubados por 35 días. El nido es muy elaborado lo hacen con restos de algas, peces, erizos y estrellas de mar muertos.

Distribución: Presente en Isabela y Fernandina.
