Juan Diego Stacey Chiriboga

Juan Diego Stacey Chiriboga, an Ecuadorian career diplomat since 2004, currently serves as the Director of Environment and Sustainable Development at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a role he has held since November 2023.

Previously, Mr. Stacey held positions at the Permanent Mission of Ecuador to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva, the Under-secretariat for Multilateral Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ecuadorian Trade Offices in Hamburg and London, the Embassy of Ecuador to the United Kingdom, and the Department for Regional Integration at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Stacey earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Maryland, a Law degree from the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja, and two Master's degrees in Economics and Public Policy from the University of Michigan. He is fluent in Spanish, English, German, and French.
