Phil van Haarlem

Chief Financial Officer

Phil van Haarlem joined CDF as its CFO in 2015. Over his career he has held positions as CEO and CFO in internationally operating companies with business interests and activities in Europe, South America and Asia, ranging from vertically integrated trading and distribution of industrial chemicals to rental, financing and leasing, as well as manufacturing. He lived for many years in Colombia, Bermuda and Indonesia. Before retiring, Phil worked for Dutch family owned Pon Holdings for 10 years as member of the Board of its non-automotive division. During that period, he held executive and supervisory positions in a number of Pon and joint-venture companies in the Netherlands, Scandinavia, Belgium and France. After formal retirement, Phil carried out some 15 volunteer business support missions under auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Asia, Africa and South America. He also served for four years on the Board of a manufacturer in Bangladesh on behalf of FMO, the Dutch public/private bank financing projects in developing countries. Phil was born in Leiden, the Netherlands, and holds a degree in Dutch Law from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. He is fluent in Dutch, English, Spanish and French and moderately fluent in German.
